Help My Memory!

I seem to remember a show on PBS in the late 70's, early 80's that had a scene in the normal intro (appeared at the beginning of each episode) of a horse race where a man is thrown from his horse and trampled by the others. Then they show the man with blood seeping through his shirt from his injurie...

+1 on Acropolis. That place is great. I am addicted to their baba ganoush. Also, get their roasted chicken. I never knew such a simple thing could be so delicious.

Re: Hubig accident

I emailed them recently to ask if they were ever going to bring back their regular round pies (custard specifically). They said they were "considering" it. That custard pie in the brown box was one of the best things around.

You mean in addition to the fries? If so, that is a very nice story.

Re: Spicer in Lakeview

I think Lago did good business, so I'm not sure if the restaurant failed or the owners just decided to call it quits. They had a tremendous Sunday brunch deal.

The idea of getting a wood fired pizza there is awesome. I might just forget Reginelli's.

Spicer in Lakeview

Susan Spicer is opening a restaurant in Lakeview in the former Lago location. I'm excited about it. Harrison Ave. is doing well with lots of places to eat, get coffee, etc. This should be great.

Re: Crescent Pie and Sausage Company

I went there maybe 2-3 months ago when they were having a soft opening. I was not impressed by the food at all, though I do realize they were brand new. The building itself is really nice, but I think the location will hurt it. It's sort of on a seedy area of Banks Street.

Re: Which Ain't Dere No More Place Do You Miss?

There was a place on Maple Street right across from Maple Street Cafe that was sort of a high end seafood restaurant (not G.W. Fins expensive but on that order). It caused some controversy on Tom's old forums because it was getting a lot of attention and he was chiding everyone for praising it befor...
