I pretty much just use Crystal, Tabassco and Louisiana. I once built a website for a guy selling sauces and he had over 300 varieties - LOL. I just go with what I know.

Chris Kimball of America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Illustrated did a taste test of hot sauces not too long ago. They didn't think much of Tabasco, either. Their top choice was Frank's Red Hot. It's not easy to locate, but I found it at some local store, and I like it quite a bit. Hot, but not too hot, with a good vinegar bite.
Tabasco is one of the worst hot sauces that I have ever tasted. It's entire taste profile is rancid vinegar. It is not really a pepper sauce, it is simply spicy vinegar.

I'm beside myself. I'm getting a case of Tamarindo Bay Pineapple Steak Sauce this afternoon. If anyone is interested you can get a bottle from me at cost. YAY!

Has anyone found Frank's Chili & Lime? Full name: FRANK'S® RedHot® Chile 'n Lime™ Hot Sauce

I've been to every chain in the Reno area, and certain other cities between Sacramento and Vancouver. I always find the regular Hot Sauce, and the Buffalo Wing Sauce, but not the Chili & Lime.

An email to Franks got the response than... "we contract out our distribution, but have no control over it". They were no help at all.

I'll look for it in my travels, Isabella and Art. If I spot it, I'll pick some up for you. :)
