Lesser of the evils?

If you HAD to choose between Cafe Giovanni's and Carmelo's Ristorante, which would it be?

....this whole "go with the flow" thing is highly overrated, IMO.

I've only sampled Carmelos at festivals and was not impressed. Chef Duke's "feed me" had been good. We dined there several months ago. He scaled down some of the "feed" portion sizes. Still the same old, same old. You may want to ask him to change it up.

Gio if you can't 'call in sick.'

Unfortunately you don't have the choice anymore. Two good friends of mine dined at Carmello's a couple of nights ago. It was the restaurant's last night. He had lease problems and is moving his restaurant to the Northshore, Mandeville to be exact. The FQ location is dark now.

I must have telepathically relayed my disdain with the options. It looks like we're going to Dick and Jenny's! (first time for me)

Roux, that is really great news!

I'm glad you're finally going to get to go to Dick & Jenny's too!

Way to go!

I like Dick & Jenny's a lot. The downside is no reservations but the upside is great food, good prices on both food and wine and the easy parking situation.
At an eat club dinner at Carmelo's years ago, I ordered grappa for the table, I must have got the good stuff because it turned out to be $23 a shot. It seemed expensive for paint remover at the time.
