Red Robbins, late 1960's basketball player with the old ABA New Orleans Bucs died. He played at the old Loyola Field House that was home for the Bucs. Today I had the best fried oyster sandwich at Southern Po-Boy right off of Jefferson Hwy near Picadilly Cafeteria. Oysters were fried perfect and the french bread was heated just right. Southern Po-Boy is your typical neighbohood joint. I must have caught it just right for today's oysters.
Re: Hot Sauce
There are many shops in the French Quarter that have many different types of hot sauces. Check out Belle Louisiana and Aunt Sally's Praline Shop both located in the French Market.

Try Mena's Palace on the corner or Iberville and Chartres. Local cooking, sandwiches, lot of local color. Daily speicals plus regular menu. Mix between locals and visitors.
