Bud's Broiler
I gotta tell ya, that #4 with sauce is orgasmic.
I wish they'd open a joint on the Northshore.
Does anyone have a recipe for that Smoke Sauce???

That's interesting, because I always thought it was just ketchup and liquid smoke, but when I tried to replicate it and it didn't seem exactly right, I was using Heinz.

Ketchup, liquid smoke + citric acid to give it the bite.
Re: Bud's Broiler
That's what I'm told, too, Rat, but I'm also told there's a specific brand of ketchup that makes it work! I haven't got around to running taste tests yet. I'm not gonna go buy a bunch of ketchup, I'm trying to build up my individual ketchup packet collection first.Stadium Rat wrote:Ketchup, liquid smoke + citric acid to give it the bite.

Re: Bud's Broiler
Funny. My son has always LOVED ketchup, and always thought he only liked Heinz. For some reason, we had a bottle of Hunt's ketchup at the house, and my daughter set up a blind tasting for him. He thought they were so close so as not to have much difference at all, but in fact, he said if he had to choose between them, he'd chose the Hunt's. I got a Bud's #6 with the sauce recently from the one on Clearview (even though I swore I'd never darken their doors after they price-gouged postK) and I was disappointed. It's just not the same.

I've read that people choose Hunt's over Heinz in overwhelming numbers in blind taste tests.expatorleanian wrote:Funny. My son has always LOVED ketchup, and always thought he only liked Heinz.
