Romantic Restaurants

Post by BobRSnow »

I'd like to see some suggestions on what are the most romantic restaurants in the area. Yes, I know that we have different ideas of what romantic is supposed to be. I don't discount that the sparks flying between the couple factors into the degree of romanticism. Ideas?

Eleven79 has a dark, intimate feel.

maybe a window table for two at the Rib Room, or the living room at Sara's, the courtyard of Martinique Bistro or Bistro at MDV, the corner booth at Lilette, the balcony at Maximo's, fireside at La Provence
After Mon & Tues, even the calendar says W-T-F!

A round booth at Mila, a window table at August, front right corner at Herbsaint,
the garden at Commanders (I'm not much on the food, but the seating screams date material), or, if you are like me, a bar seat at Parkway. I date Parkway chicks, so it usually is a nice start.

If you are really trying to do something special though, I recommend flying to NY, getting a room, and dining at 11 Madison Park. It's the nicest space I've ever dined in (multiple times) and it's a "can't miss later in the evening" kind of spot.

Bob, tell me, what's your idea of romantic? ;)
And maybe even more importantly, what's your wife's idea of romantic?

We'll go from there.

you could have a champagne lunch in the garden of Belladonna and then have a couple's massage and jacuzzi time.

Candlelight, leather chairs, crystal wine glasses, brick floor, brass or copper fixtures, soft romantic music. nice people who won't bother us too much. Not incredibly expensive either, but expensive enough to keep the riff-raff away. (;) j/k)

How about one of the curtained tables/booths at the Bombay Club? :)

Is this your or L's idea of romantic?

Edible C, that sounds delightful. I'd really love that!
I think there's a special going on right now for locals somewhere else that would be very luxurious. I'll make a call & find out for sure.

No surprise here but I 2nd the vote for a booth at the Rib Room...not just any booth but the one in the SouthWest??? corner-along the windows facing St. Louis St. Sit on the same side of the table, get Hugo as your waiter and you can't go wrong.

...or if you have connections at the Foundation Room at HOB, those booths are awesome, too.
