I've never been much of a hot-head, but my 14 y/o son is one, and now I'm becoming intrigued by different hot sauces.
We've got all that's offered at the local grocery store and I want to add more variety.
Any suggestions as to where I can buy some interesting hot sauces?
Feel free to suggest a brand or type.

Guts and Glory. It's very good. Not HOT with heat like your son may be looking for, but awesome taste.

Cholula Mexican Hot Sauce is one of my favorites. It's got a smoky flavor you don't get with most others. I like Tabasco green sauce but have been leaning to La. Gold green sauce (not the wasabi).

If you really like hot stuff there is nothing like mincing up some jalapenos or seranos fresh and make your own salsa.

Melinda's....it comes in several strengths, for me the hotter the better....interesting because it actually has a carrot base which definately gives it a unique taste

I use Crystal Chipotle, but I don't consider it to be that hot. I just like it.

What I really prefer to use for heat is Chile Oil of an Asian variety.

There's also a local restaurant that makes a Habenero Oil & I make sure to order enough so that I have leftovers
so I can ask for a little souffle cup to take some of the Habenero Oil home. I would have never done this, but the waitress offered once
and of course, how could I refuse. I love that stuff.

If not, who was it yall? I promised him some cookbooks.

I remember it was someone that had a dog avatar. I think.
I believe he was hanging out in Waveland at a family home til his house was repaired.

Have you tried the Sriracha yet? I know it's available in most stores, but not by the regular hot sauces. It's usually in the isle by the Asian foods and comes in a large squeeze bottle.

My wife, being very good at cooking Asian dishes, has that within an arms reach at all times. I'm not a big fan of it. Thanks though.

I like the Cholula's and Melinda's. I've got a couple of Tabasco bottles and Crystal bottles, but no Chipotle yet.

I think Central Grocery still has a huge selection of hot sauces. Maybe I'll go there.

OK, I'll let my little secret out. Check out Big Lots. They usually have a few different varieties Mexican hot sauces/salsas. I've got three bottles here at work that I picked up there. One medium heat El Pato Salsa Picante (very thin like crystal), a Snake Bite Habanero sauce and a Widow Maker Habanero. The two latter sauces are SUPER hot. A couple drops are perfect for a soup.

Price is usually around a buck a bottle.

In addition to the above, I always have a big bottle of Crystal and Tabasco around.

Last time I was at the French Market I found a vender who sold hundreds of different brands of just hot sauce, it was amazing how many different kinds are out there.

Blairs makes the hottest on record at 16,000,000 su if you want to try the hottest. Blair's has some products that we eat regularly.
