Totally, freaking awesome.

Waiting to see opening, on west coast time, at 7:30 pm.

Got one chuckle earlier as the IOC Medical Chief (suitably bribed, I'm sure) reported that the Bejing air (smog) was completely safe and posed no hazzard whatsoever to those competing. He further stated there was no reason at all to wear masks. :p

One of the "network super-reporters" did a piece walking around Bejing talking to tourists from many countries. He even indicated he couldn't find any Americans to interview. Other than the competitors and media, where are the American visitors?

I spent the evening playing in a private high stakes poker game. While I have zero interest in the non-basketball bs that is going on, I have to admit that the poker game to a complete standstill during the light show. I have no clue how London could possibly top it in 2012.

There must be one hell-of-a basement under that Birdcage if they can keep that ball (globe) down there and pop it up on cue. Also the moving print blocks rising and falling routine was amazing.

OK, I worked with a couple big (100 dancers or more) Vegas Shows in the "good old days", MGM Grand, Hilton, and Flamingo, but this Olympics Show topped them all!!!

Politics and other BS aside, I'm completely loving the Olympics.

Michael Phelps just took another gold in swimming. He is 3 for 3.

The American women took a Gold and a Bronze in swimming as well.
