Just finished a four-day blast of global warming. 4-7 inches of new snow per day, Tuesday thru Saturday. Snow blower and shovel four mornings in a row.

It is spectacular though - snow covered mountains in three directions - S, W, N. Downtown Reno to the east. Reno/Tahoe ski resorts went crazy for the Presidents Day Holiday weekend.

Problems affect the Military at home too. Three weeks ago son-in-law of #1 daughter, being transferred from base near Olympia, WA, to Monterey, CA, had his rental truck go up in flames in Oregon. No one hurt, but bed, furniture, clothing, 2 kayaks, many personal items, all gone. Started in engine - not the fault of the cargo.

Still hanging in there. God I hope I make it back to New Orleans this year.

Bummer! I miss all of you too. Went to WI for training and ended up with a horrible sinus infection. On my second round of antibiotics and my poor nose is raw.

Frankly, I stopped coming around because of all the political
banter in THE LOUNGE. I mentioned it to admin & I said it would
drive alot of people away. It didn't stop so I stopped coming around.

To me, if you have a forum for POLITICS, please use that if you want
to have political discussions. That's what it's there for!!

I hate to see this forum die.
I'll make an effort to visit more often if the PB doesn't leak
over too much.

How's everyone's health in LA?

Went to Vancouver 3 weeks ago to visit daughter #3 and pet/house sit while she and daughter #1 sunned in Costa Rica. Got hit by some plague running around. Worst "cold" in memory. Couldn't even drive. Got Canadian walk-in clinic to prescribe anti-biotic. Stayed an extra week to recover. Leaving for Reno tomorrow am.

Not trying to be incendiary, but why do you read or visit those posts if you prefer not to read them? Most posters put a legitimate title to their posts from what I see. So why click on them and be disappointed?
