Where are you are going? What are you doing. JAG and I thought the menu at GW Fins for the vintner dinner looked awesome. So we are going there. We are skipping the Royal Street Stroll and then going to Grand Tasting. We have a few other goings on as well.

Never been. Is the Grand Tasting worth it? How long would I have to go to get my $$$ worth?

Also, is it feasible to do the Grand Tasting and then a later dinner? By feasible, I mean not completely stuffed and sloshed.

As long as it is not extremely crowded with long lines while you are there, you will probably be quite full from the food. Unless things have changed in the last few years, I thought the food was the best part of the grand tasting event.

Commander's and Fins both look amazing. It was a hard decision but I wanted to be in the quarter. But now I'm not going...I don't have any shoes to wear with my new dress. So sad.

I stopped going to the Royal Street Stroll a few years ago. It was fun but it got too crowded the past few years and the wines they were pouring were the lower price point stuff.

I wasn't quite sure how the Superdome would be for hosting the Grand Tastings but I like it. I've been to the tastings when they were at the Convention Center and (post-Katrina) in the Hilton Ballrooms. The Superdome provides ample room although some would say it's too cavernous. The wines are much better than the RSS and there is plenty of food selections. I could see late dinner reservations if you attended the Saturday event but only if you take it easy during the tasting. It's easy to be drunk and full walking out. Saturday's Grand Tasting also incorporates the annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-off.

In my opinion it is well worth the $$.

Bam just bought me some new shoes, so I'm all better now :)

(yes, I was kidding) I'm very much looking forward to GW Fins tonight, the grand tasting and the other events we have planned this weekend.
