Meauxbar-"pre theater" FYI

Post by RouxTheDay »

I finally made it to Meuxbar Bistro last night after reading so many reviews here. It was wonderful and I do plan to go back.

The main reason for my post is to let folks know that Armstrong Park is "closed" (read: locked up) so you can't walk through it for easy access to the theater.

Wicked was fantastic, BTW. :)

This city really does not make it easy to live here sometimes, I must say. I apologize -- I am the one who said the whole area was lit up like Christmas with the park open and people strolling through during an event at the theatre, because I have personally witnessed it that way numerous times since the re-opening of the theatre and the park. I guess there's no consistency to it -- I wonder if it's only on the weekends that they open it? Anyway, I apologize for the misinformation. Glad you liked MeauxBar, though -- I think it's a great little place.

No need to apologize, I could see how that would be a great option. I'm not even sure when they started but I agree, it is bad timing.
...I didn't have the right shoes on for the walk anyway. ;)

Knowing that Wicked is here for another 2 weeks, I suspect there are folks here who might find that info useful.

I can't wait to try Meauxbar again when I have more time.
We shared the pate appetizer which was a lot. My sister had the Risotto and I had the Bolognese. We also had a bottle Louis Latour Pinot Noir.
It was all wonderful. I'm shocked that the place wasn't packed.
