Restaurant Recommendation

Post by flyinbayou »

I have a friend coming down from NYC next week and she is a big local seafood lover. I will be treating her to oysters cooked (or uncooked) in many ways for lunch.
What does the board recommend for dinner.
The only requirement is that we will be in casual clothes.
Other than that, anything goes.
Saturday night. Anywhere around the city.

Thanks for the input.

So you're doing the oysters yourseslf for lunch?
I shucked about half a sack last night for my neighbor's birthday...did them all grilled...yummy:toast:

For a local seafood dinner Brigtsen's is great...if that's too intimate maybe Mandina's or Manale's.

Yeah, but the problem is.... they only serve dessert.....and only to certain people.

Ciro's Cote Sud - on Maple St. Cash and Checks only. Good French bistro food plus good pizza. Very relaxing atmosphere.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.

Yep! Half sack. Oysters 4 ways: Half-shell, charbroiled, stewed, and skewered and w/prosciutto and herbs and then grilled. If I have the time I may do a Rockefeller.

I didn't think about Brigstens. That is sounding good. And from I have read I have access to great conference table! Thanks BAM.
She had mentioned Irene's since she wants to go to the French Quarter. I haven't been there in few years but they always did seafood very well.

Happy Saintsgiving right back atcha!
