Herbsaint

Post by Mrs. Fury »

Had lunch there today with my pal CopCop/Jeeves. It was quite loud but the food was fantastic. I had the spaghetti (recommended by jag) and the crab au gratin, which I had to take most of the second dish to go. The place was crawling with lawyers. Oh and there's free parking in front of Ditcharo's. Meter #612 is stuck on green. The meter maid walked right by it and didn't look to see if there were any minutes on the screen.
I like kids. They taste like chicken.

Heh! Illegal parking is my favorite sport! My duck and sausage gumbo was breathtaking....literally! I wasn't ready for the initial spicyness when I fairly inhaled the first spoonful, but after that it was smooth sailing to the very end when I mopped the bowl dry with lovely french bread provided. Deep brown color, intense flavor profile and generous amount of duck and sausage bits. Next was a duck po-boy with tender pieces of duck and a spicy aioli on crispy french bread. Pickled haricots and onions made for a pleasant side. Ya, it was noisy, but today is Friday and I bet most of the folks present were well oiled and heading for home (or destinations other than back to the office) after lunch.

If by "well oiled" you mean greasy individuals, I agree.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the spaghetti. I literally crave that dish.
