I'm a frequent customer at a private boat launch on the Northshore, and two weeks ago I hurt myself there on a piece of their property that they have not maintained, and really just ignored. It was not anything serious, though it could have been. If it was a child, it could have been very serious. I reported it to the guy who said he was the manager, and he said he would tell the owners and get it taken care of. When I went back this weekend, nothing had changed. When I was taking the boat out of the water, I saw the same manager and asked him about it and he told me the owners didn't care and don't ever fix anything. I have no desire to sue the place, I'm just truly concerned that someone will get badly hurt. It's clearly something they are responsible for, and it's a super easy (and cheap) fix.
I'm going to try and call the owners, but I'm wondering what other options I have. Is there a parish agency that could get involved, or something of the like? Thanks in advance.

Now why wouldn't a free market guy like yourself want to sue them? Obama will solve everything!!!
Re: Looking for some advice/ideas...
Maybe you should e-mail Don Dubuc about it...or call in Sat. AM!

Sorry, but I would not be able to leave this alone.
If a child's life could be in danger & I didn't persue it, it just wouldn't sit right with me. After all, it could be your child.
Since the owners seem like such concerned people, you may have no choice to get their attention. I know you don't want to be "sue happy", but if that is what's it's going to take to save a child . . . well, what would you want someone else to do?
I have no idea if Richard Angelico is still around with Action Reporter, but that is the only other idea that came to mind - or something similar. Is there anything like that these days? Calling the city or the parish & making a complaint might work, but I wonder how long it would take.
Just my 2 cents.

I have this odd curiosity now to know what the damaged property is. How did you hurt yourself?
