Mikes American Grill

I joined your forum after reading some disappointing reviews about Mikes American Grill. But my girlfriend wanted to try it for her Birthday so 3 of us went there this past Saturday evening. We sat at our table for 20 minutes before our waiter came to take our drink order and then waited another 20 for our drinks. The Birthday girl and I both ordered the grilled tuna over fettuccine carbonara . Our friend ordered the 6oz fillet well done (yuck , I like med rare) which came with nothing , she really wanted to order a baked or sweet potato ala carte but was told they didn't offer that option and that nobody ever orders that and that's why they don't have it. We all thought that was very weird but she ordered the au gratin potatoes to go with her steak. Well, our tuna came and was very good with a nice flavor to the fettuccine carbonara. Our friends steak did not come out for another 5 minutes and when she cut it in half it was med rare and not well done. She sent it back and about the time we were almost finished with our meals her same two pieces of steak came back looking like 2 charred pieces of charcoal . We asked the waiter to inform the manager and ask why a new steak was not prepared because after being cut in 2, the steak being re cooked had become too dry to eat. Well the hostess came to the table and wanted us to explain what was wrong and finally offered to take it off the bill. When the bill came she had removed the steak but not the potatoes which by the way were terrible and not eaten. Overall the service was terrible and even though the tuna was good, when one person has such a bad experience it ruins the evening for all. The service was slow and bad .We will never go back.
