Commander's Chef's Table

Post by Yvette »

Four of us went to the Chefs Table at Commanders last night to celebrate two birthdays. We were well attended to by our waiter Argyle and the always pleasent Chef Tory McPhail. We had 7:00 reservations and did not leave until 10:45. 10 courses, all incredible.

Just a small sampling of what we had

Three did the dinner with wine pairings, one had only red through the entire meal, wonder who that was :-)

The rootbeer float that came with the foie gras was delicious

The Hisbiscus Martini intermezzo was fantastic too

My favorite dish of the night was the BBQ Quail

The Seared Beef over Beef Tartar was also very good.

They brought out Chefs hats for us and eight desserts for 4 people. Autographed personalized menu's. What a night. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Love the Chef's Table! Haven't been since chef Jamie Shannon so we are overdue to return.

Must have been one fantastic celebration. As I am a "foreigner", Yvette, which are you - white dress or black? In case I pass you some time in the future.

The food looks amazing. Thanks for the pix.

This is a total non-sequitur, but the name Argyle made me think of Die Hard.
Now this is more like it.

I am in the black dress. My friend Mary is the director of the Culinary School at Delgado CC.

I know how the saying goes, if you have to ask you can't afford it, but could you please tell me how much this cost?

I just asked my husband, cause I have no clue. Remember three had the wine pairings, which was $100.00pp in addition to the dinner. You have a choice of basic wine pairing, $100.00, $125.00 or $150.00 on the wine. The dinner was something like $125.00pp

With tax, tip wine pairings (and all my reds I ordered :) ) the bill came to right under $1000.00 for the four of us. Really worth the experience.

Oh, if you want to know that that thing on Chef Tory's head (no not the chef hat), he had just won the Seafood Cookoff, that was his crown.
