Well, I was prepared to be underwhelmed, and ended up delighted. I was with 2 DC. First: 2 bib salads and a six oyster appetizer. Salads were good with a nice light dressing. DC raved over the oysters. We divided the soft shell crab app. Delicious. One DC and I ordered the cochon du lait with grits and greens. Very good. Grits aren't the best in the city, though. Other DC had the chicken dish and thought it delicious. Desserts, I had the strawberries with cream and Italian wine. Excellent, sweet-tart. One DC had the beignets stuffed with chocolate cream. Huge portion and quite good.
It's a beautiful space with attentive staff. I'll be back.
