Monday Night Recs
It never fails. Whenever I have someone coming in town and they want to go eat a "New Orleans" meal, it's on a Monday night. Again is the case this coming Monday.
I'm looking for a place that serves traditional New Orleans fare (i.e. grilled fish Pontchartrain, ettouffee, shrimp creole, softshell crab) in a nice setting. I can think of several places but don't know which are open on Monday. I'm looking for somewhere in the CBD or Uptown.
Anybody have a favorite Monday night spot?

My Monday night spot is something that is open late . . . so it doesn't fit your criteria.
What are the places you are thinking of but don't know if they are open on Monday? This is good info for all of us! We'll do some research!

Luke; not traditional NOLA, but open.
After Mon & Tues, even the calendar says W-T-F!

Re: Monday Night Recs
I'm thinking about Palace Cafe, Cafe Giovanni, Bon Ton for CBW, Dante's Kitchen, Mat & Naddie's, Upperline for Uptown.
Bon Ton is definitely a candidate. I've been to Luke a couple times. Once was pretty good, second time the service was way below par. And I'm looking for New Orleans Creole style.
Thanks for the responses.

I happened to dine a Palace Cafe last Monday and enjoyed very much. The place wasn't crowded, but it certainly couldn't be considerd "dead" either. Service was fantastic and all the food was excellently prepared. In our threesome we had steak, the pecan crusted gulf fish, and the roast chicken. Each diner enjoyed their entree.

Try Cafe Atchafalaya on the corner of Louisiana & Laurel. They're open on Monday night and serve New Orleans favorites.

Try Emeril's. He has a small/not so small plates menu in addition to the regular menu. Something for everyone. Not traditional, but fresh takes with local flavor. Plus, they appreciate locals. Service and food have been consistently excellent. We've been dining there several times a month since Nov. No, I don't have any affiliation with the place. It's just been that good.
