Savannah Restaurants

Post by gumbo lover »

Staying at a hotel on the river. Need a few dinner recommendations. No requirements other than good good. Dress, cost etc... are not issues. Thanks

I saw your post on the other thread....and shame on me...I hadn't replied yet! :(

Kiddo.... if my circumstances were any different, we'd be making plans! And I say that with all sincerity. :)

(Where in the hell were you prior to September????) ;)

Paula Dean's place is a big tourist draw but the food is pretty good...go between lunch/dinner for less of a crowd.

A friend of mine has Huey's (casual) and another higher very end place (the name escapes me, but I 'm sure the people at Huey's could tell you).

Take a drive up to Hilton Head and go to the Old Fort Pub. Really good stuff.

I'm going to second the Old Pink House. One of the best meals I have had in a LONG time. We actually didn't have reservations, but sat downstairs in the bar (basement); was a lot of fun and the food was fantastic.
