I had an enormously ****ty afternoon. So I am having dinner by myself @ Coquette, the sassy bistro on Washington Avenue. The place is packed and the bartender is a douche. More later.

Bartender still a douche. Menu is fairly standard. Small plates or large plates. I am going with the grouper.

A seemingly straight guy just ordered a cosmo. I'd like to punch him.

Bread is sourdough. Very crusty. I think the bartender read my last post as he is being nicer.

The guy next to me ordered an abita amber which is an ale but he is drinking the beer from a pilsener glass so gauche. Small just arrived. A pumpkin cappelletti.

There is one chick here who I swear to god I recognize from Internet porn.

I am thinking First Time Auditions, July 06. But I could be mistaken. The staff seems curious that I am buried on my iPhone. Mussels look good. I think, like Obama, "I messed up". Anyway this pumpkin thing has duck confit, orange and some shaved parm.

The actual pumpkin cappelletti are very good. The rest of the dish is a mess.

This could get interesting. Keep us informed on how you manage to piss the bartender off.

I have had the flu since Sunday. I finally gave up on doing the right thing and drank a bottle of white wine tonight.

The guy next to me felt sorry about my lame small plate. He offered me a mussel. Much better than mine. I regret calling him gauche.

Grouper has arrived. It is a little sparse. Also a stacked presentation. What is this 2002?

Have I mentioned that I have better wine pours at opus one. You are lucky to get three sips. Check that. Much better pour on the third glass.

Apparently I am being edited. Entrée is good not great.

The grouper was cooked perfectly. The flavor combo with the leeks, crab and red wine reduction is a cooking reality show project gone awry. It was the most expensive thing on the menu. Portion was half assed. I am ordering dessert. I like hanging out with douche bags.

The desserts are bizarre. I ordered a creme fraiche semi freddo topped with berries and a lemon sorbet. Why you need two types of frozen desserts on a plate boggles the mind.

the dessert was the best thing. Bill came to 60 dollars. Due to proximity to my abode I may go back sooner than is warranted.

Live reviews! Awesome.

Is this on the corner of Magazine and Washington?
This may be a dumb question since downstairs only has a few tables but is upstairs open, too?

Washington and Magazine. I don't think the upstairs is open. But I was too buried in my iPhone to notice.

I think curiosity will get you there eventually but I wouldn't recommend going.

Enjoyed the play by play, but just for the record, Amber is made, and always has been since day one, with lager yeast. Turbodog is made with alt yeast (a hybrid of ale and lager yeast-ferments at high temps, but still flocs out like lager yeast).
