I'm curious if people in Duke and Kimmee's predicament ever thought of announcing in advance that they were closing. Something along the lines of "Hey folks, we're closing up shop by the end of the month. So if you want to come by one last time or if you've never been before, we'd love to see you." It seems this could trigger an outpouring of support -- and business -- that is going unrequited.
I, personally, would have eaten there most every night before they closed had I known this was coming.

Oh no.... I'm just seeing this. I'm so very sorry Duke and Kim. Ya'll ran a wonderful restaurant, and I know you will again in the furture! Best of luck to you!

We were quite disappointed to hear of that. That said, I know we did not venture over there from the 'burbs often enough. Philip asked to go Sunday and when I told him we was quite upset.
Better to go out now with the staff paid, a little money in the bank and outstanding bills at a minimum.
Chris worked at a restaurant that closed - and waited as long as they could. He said that he will never forget the look on the owners face when he showed up at Chris's house with one day's pay in cash (he was owed a couple of weeks), and said that this was all he had.
We love you Kimmie & Craig! And are proud of you for going after your dream. We'll miss J'Anita's and look forward to the next incarnation.

We loved the whole J'Anita's concept. Hoping Kimmie and Craig can come back again some day. In the meantime, we'll be seeing y'all here and there!
