J'anita's closes, But Not For Long!

Post by paz5559 »

I was literally there for dinner Wednesday, and, after reading about their grits, was gonna have breakfast there today!

Another bout of very unhappy news after Pelicano. I regret sincerely, that after all the positive information placed on this and other sites, I will never have the chance to dine there - no J'anita fish sandwich.

I'm still in denial.
Are you sure? Was there a sign or note saying they closed? Perhaps there was something important going on and it's just for the day.

Duke has made the announcement, elsewhere online, himself. :(

I also called the restaurant, and the outgoing message confirms the sad news

I'm glad I got breakfast there Tuesday morning. Didn't know it was going to be my last....

We had plans on going for lunch this past Friday for the best fish sammitch ever. :( I'm sorry we didn't make it in the Friday before.
Sending good vibes your way, Kimmie & Duke.

Across all 4 of the local foodie forums, if all the people who said they were going to go there or they meant to get there soon actually would have gone there and had lunch or something, maybe J'Anita's wouldn't be closing.

All this woulda, coulda, shoulda, "I had plans to go"...is bull$hit. Put your money where your mouth is. They don't want to hear that you ALMOST were going to go there. I hear that so much around here. Tell me where you went and what you ate, not where you want to go. Who cares about that?

I did eat there many times and will really miss Duke's fish sammich and Kimmie's awesome guacamole.
