I have not made it to 4 Corners yet, but Geo used to be the chef at Cafe Rani on Magazine. He opened 4 Corners earlier this year in the former Cafe Annie location. I always enjoyed Geo's cooking at Rani and am glad to see he is back in the kitchen.

I second The Shed, as mentioned above. Here's my little blurb on it from a recent trip.

Lunch - Our first stop was The Shed in Ocean Springs, Ms. on Hwy. 57. Definitely an interesting place. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich plate (2 sides) and my wife ordered the beef brisket sandwich plate. Both of us got potato salad and slaw as our sides. Lots of meat...lots... moist, and tender. I liked the pork better, she liked her brisket. The sauce was a little sweet for me but still good. After hitting it with some crystal hot sauce it was just right. Both plates came with 2 sides. Plates with two sodas for $20. Excellent recommendation. Thanks

Another gulf coast spot is the "new" Trapani's in Bay St. Louis. Jeeves and I ate there once & so did sweetie and I on another occasion and both times the food was wonderful. I'd say even better than when they were located on the beach. I'd rather the building was on the beach instead of a strip mall but I'll take what I can get.

I wish I could recommend more places but I have not spent enough time on the coast in the past few summers.

I can't tell you about that one, but I can tell you where not to go: McElroy's, just off 90. Supposed to be a good seafood place there per my friend who has a camp there. Well, since my friend has hardly any sense of smell (really!...a consequence of meningitis), we should have known better. Smelly fish, too much butter - yeah, you can use too much - and everything overcooked and served by Lurch's sister. Ewww.

Thanks, everyone for your replies. I think EC's suggestion of Blow Fly Inn is a winner! The weather is getting just right to eat out on the deck overlooking lovely Bayou Bernard.

Doug and I went for a drive along the gulf coast today. Stopped and had lunch at The BlowFly Inn. The food was just okay. I had barbecued shrimp that were way overcooked. Doug had fried shrimp..he said his meal was okay. The salad dressing was the highlight of the meal for me. Oh...and they did have good cocktail sauce...very spicy.

The weather was beautiful today and it made for a great drive. We sat out on the deck overlooking the water. A good day was had..and that's what matters. Oh..and the sour apple snowball from Ro-Bears that I just picked up...was excellent I figure this is the last of the season. They close the windows on October 30th for the season.
