Casual lunch today?

Post by UptownKevin »

Hey all -

Sorry for the last minute post. Just flew in last night and will be headed out in a couple hours to cruise around the city with the wife and my sister. Trying to think of something different to do for lunch. Want something casual and New Orleans (no ethnic, BBQ, etc.). We're doing August for lunch on Friday, so want something easy today. The same old places keep coming up in my mind - Liuzza's by the Track, Acme, Mandina's, etc. I was thinking maybe Cohon. Any good ideas? What am I missing?

Oh, and we're shucking oysters tonight and doing some fried food, so I won't be missing out on any of the food groups.

Park your car in the Riverbend area somewhere on the street. Hop on the Streetcar and ride to Canal St. Then walk through the Quarter and have lunch (Johnny's Poboys, Coop's, Central Grocery) and a few beers/cocktails. Enjoy the awesome weather and when you're ready, ride back to your car.
