We spent Saturday night there and discovered that Todd English closed Olives about 2 weeks ago.
We went to BR Prime instead. We didn't have a reservation so we were seated in the non smoking section of the bar which was fine.
The staff was very attentive from the moment we walked in.
I was shocked as the waiter was explaining the specials to hear that the APPETIZER specials were all at least $27-and this was for shrimp and gnocchi type stuff-No caviar or anything.
Steaks were all $32 and up, stone crabs were $85.We've eaten there before and don't remember it ever being this extreme.-These prices were higher than Gary Danko in San Francisco.
I had the corn and crab bisque and the seafood risotto. It was wonderful and I wish I had my leftovers right now.
We enjoyed a bottle of wine recommended by the sommelier -it was a Chardonnay from Willamette Valley but the name escapes me.
Despite the prices being a bit out of line IMO, we had a great meal....of course, the place was packed so good for them.
The space that was Olives is dark and empty. None of the poker dealers had any idea of what might end up there.
