You're welcome Bob & I think PAZ has the best advice for you.
Here's the thing - sounds like he can afford anything he wants & you just want to give him a gift to say thanks (for biz or something?).
Gift cards get lost (I have quite a few that are MIA in my house) and unless it's a coffee shop card that I stick in my purse to use immediately, it's likely that it gets put in a safe place & I promptly forget where because it's so safe.
However, you know what I think just about anyone would like?
Same thing I would like!
Invite me to lunch, take me some place you love that I've never been before & treat. I love this kind of gift the most.
I get a new restaurant experience, the pleasure of your company & a good excuse to play hooky from work for a little while.
Would that work for this guy?

Re: Gift for Jewish man
I assumed he lived here in the N.O. area. Obviously if he didn't the Kosher Kajun deli issue would be moot. Common sense.
Since you specified he was Jewish, I thought perhaps you were interested in a gift idea that incorporated that issue.
Isabella, you and I are so different!;)
I wouldn't want the gift recipient to feel obligated to use their gift with me, so to speak. As if I was part of the deal (gift). But I'm sure more people would be inclined to do that. I'm just more of a private person I guess.....
I think gift cards are great. They allow the person to choose what they want. And they aren't stuck with something they may not need or want.

If everyone liked the same thing, we'd probably run out.

Kosher Cajun has been mentioned. Stop by and introduce yourself to Joel and Natalie Brown, ask them to suggest something.
