Liuzza's on Bienville

Post by jshushan »

Group: Just a quick note.

I had lunch there on Wed. the special was meat loaf with mashed potatoes and veggies. The meat loaf was good. It was moist and tasty. The potatoes seemed to be real and fresh. The veggies were unremarkable.

My cup of Gumbo was good.

I like this place for weekday lunches. It's not far from downtown and the food is good.

What do the rest think?

How long from time of order to getting your food? I've always understood that to be a perennial issue there. Otherwise, most seem to like the place.

I had a cup of gumbo, excellent by the way, to start and it was at the table in about 5 minutes after ordering.

My entree came quickly after the gumbo was eaten and I was back at my desk in a little over an hour.

Although, the entree I had, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, didn't have anything cooked "a la minute." All they had to do was plate it up and send it out.

The time issues may be with fried items. I saw a lot of fried stuff coming out. They may get backed up there. I had no time problems.
