Went to K-Paul's last night. They had a nice crowd for a Thursday night. The front of the house recognized us when we walked in, asked how we have been, etc. Always a nice touch when they recognize you, know you are a local and a repeat customer.
This restautant continues to be one of my husband's and my favorite local restaurant.
I usually order their sausage if its on the menu, this one was very different than the others I had before. The homemade sausage was very spicy, the menu said it was also made with cheese. I could not tell what cheese it was. It also had a red sauce on it with onions. OMG, it was incredible. My husband order the buffalo frog legs with onion rings. This was good, not great, really tasted like any other buffalo wings you would get anywhere. Onion rings were good.
We each had the three cheese stuffed and blackened pork chop. OMG again, it was wonderful. Came with steamed broccoli flowerets.
I was disappointed the band combo was not playing outside. This was the first time I have been, that they were not there. Guess they have cut them back to weekends only. I know I saw the band there on a weekend not long ago.
Our friends got the gumbo, sausage dish and the fish. They raved over their selections. They also got the bread pudding for dessert. I always get another glass of wine for dessert, as I am not a dessert eater and it beats sitting there while they eat and you have nothing in front of you:)
Anyway, their bread pudding was very dark in color and very dry looking. They said it was good, but they are from up north, and perhaps not used to bread pudding. It did not look very good to me.
K-Paul's
Re: K-Paul's
We now get dessert elsewhere when dining at K-Paul's. Have tried the sweet potato pecan pie, bread pudding, coconut cake, caramel custard (or was it creme brulee?)...not a winner in the bunch.
