Also note that if you do want to fake others out, and don't really want to listen to music or talk-show downloads 24/7, you can buy the ear buds for next to nothing - put the end of the cord in your pocket - and not be bothered with the cost of a "device".
My personal problem is that my ears must be misshapen, and ear buds fall right out. I need a headset with a band over the head from ear to ear.
As John Wayne once said: "Life's tough. It's even tougher if you're stupid."
My roommate and I took Amtrak from Ky to West Palm Beach for spring break..way back in my college days. Laurel was a talker..and the more she drank..the more she talked ..about ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. This was back in the days of the Walkman. My batteries died on the way home..I sat there with those earphones in for hours and hours.
hey, it worked...she finally gave up and passed out.

Ok, I guess I don't learn.
Went back today and was happy to see that the tv was lowered quite a bit. I ordered my po-boy and sat down on the side with the TV as that was the most open area. Opened my paper and started to read when my boy picked up the remote control and raised the volumn quite a bit so he could hear the Sarah Palin speech that was live on Fox. I chuckled.
I had the onion rings this time with the RB po-boy. Excellent onion rings!
Will be ordering to go from now on. That tv noise with the poltics messes too much with my relaxing lunch time zen I am trying to achieve.
The onion rings are great! Doug likes the splat burgers..but I'm hooked on the roast beef po boys and the muffeletta panini.

In BR having a TV in eating places is an epidemic, usually loudly interrupting my peaceful meal. However, my daughter heard my complaint once and bought me a very clever gadget, a small universal remote that turns off TV's. I keep it in the car and I know the places I will need it.
