McGuire's...hummm...used to be one of my fav's...
Dined at the Pensacola location few weeks back. Drooling for my favorite Mesquite Smoked Prime Rib with a few hearty brews. Out comes my cut, and WTF? It is now served with a "Salted Crust." HUH? Why? The glorious blackened fat with hundreds of large rock salt crystals clinging to it? Why? Did I mention WTF? The wife thinks her Strip had the salt crust also, but can't swear to it.
Wait...it gets better...
Of the multiple side offerings, I go with the Baked Potato. Man, what can beat rare PR and BP? Waiter places on the table, and I notice a "cute little flag" sticking out of it. I pull it out, and what does it say? SALT CRUSTED BAKED POTATO! Again I exclaim...WTF???
Apparently, one of the Management Team decides that if you encrust every item on the menu with salt, beer sales will go through the roof. There is absolutely no other reason I can possibly think of for encrusting everything in ROCK SALT!
Dumbest thing I have ever seen, even for a chain restaurant.
Used to look forward to the meal every trip. I will call to verify that this FUBAB Menu has been righted before I will darken the Womens' Restroom door again!
Anyone offer a better explanation for food crusted in salt?
Lunch between Ms. and Fla. on I-10

I don't know why they would salt everything, but I do like the salted baked potatoes. Maybe they were getting ready to preserve everything if the power went out.
