Recs at Stella!

Post by Leo in B.R. »

Going for first time this weekend. What great things are there to be had from their menu? Tending away from the tasting menu, although I'm sure that would be great experience.

Shame to say we have not been since 2008 but everything was great when we went. There were no bad choices. http://picasaweb.google.com/girlygirl2969/Stella# I think jag had the popcorn crusted fish. That was probably my favorite entree. Or was it the scallops...
I like kids. They taste like chicken.

The menu changes daily, so its hard to recommend one particular thing. If they have it, the duck 5 ways is fantastic.

Also, his foie gras is highly recommended, if he has it.

I am not a dessert person, but if you do get something, it is a work of art.

In addition to the above suggestions,

The a la cart menu is on their web site:

You may want to try Chowhound, for reviews:

I did have the fish. It and everything else we had was amazing. Anything you order will make you happy. If they have the oysters with LA caviar, get them but be warned, you are going to crave them!

I guess as a sign of modern times, as a replacement of the old style sandwich boards, restaurants pay people to shout the name of their restaurant at the top of their lungs. The Quarter was filled with shouts of "Stel-laaaa!" this afternoon! Hope the advertising pays off . Wonder if other restautrants will join in.

It's a yearly contest, not an advertising ploy.

Oh you are too funny!

I finally looked at Mrs Fury's pics. I had the spicy shrimp app and the Asian style fish over the soba noodles in the broth. Mrs F...I'm guessing you had the popcorn fish, Mr F had the scallops and Jeeves had whatever that chop looking piece of meat was. Jeeves also got the risotto with truffles that I was lucky enough to get a bite of. Jeeves also is responsible for getting me drunk that night. For the record.
