I had to skip the mash. I was afraid my taste buds wouldn't survive it and I had so many things I wanted to try. But I wanted to.

I waited til the end to try it. The 'new' mash had a great flavor. And since it's before the vinegar it was just flavor and no vinegar. The 3 year old was very salty, as expected, but still quite interesting. Neat experience.

I want more of those oysters with granita and caviar. OMG they were so good.

We went as well. Thank goodness for VIP tix...warmth, tables and couches, otherwise definitely not worth $450 (we brought our son). IMO, the chefs could have done a better job coordinating items...several pulled pork, many items were "good" but given the event, I was expecting "spectacular". FWIW, my husband and I dined at Lilette Wed., ordering 5 apps (plus a split an entree). Everything was better than what was available at the JB benefit.

If anyone's interested, Susan Spicer said her Lakeview rest. will not open till the end of May.
