Rajun Cajun

Post by RouxTheDay »

I tried this new spot for lunch today. (open since April)
I planned to eat light but that didn't work out...the special was breaded pork chops w/ mac'n'cheese. Fantastic. $8.95 (came w/ corn and bread)

I saw some great looking salads and po-boys being served as well.
The sandwich menu is impressive (soft shells, 3 kinds of sausage, meatball, veal cutlet, etc)

The owner came out, too. Very nice guy...I'll go back!

Is this owned by the same guy that owned the previous restaurant in the same location?
I think he was Chef Duke's (Giovanni's) brother?

New owner: Shawn Cahill.

He bought the place and totally remodeled it. I don't know what it was like before but it's as nice a neighborhood restaurant as I've ever been in.

I went back today and thoroughly enjoyed the "Buffalo Chicken Salad".

An old lady next to me had the red beans with -2- pork chops and she cleaned her plates! (beans on one plate, meat/bread on the other)

Nice crowd today, too.

Was excited to be able to eat lunch there today with DH. I'm a teacher, so lunch out is a treat. I'll be kind and say they must have been having an off day. I know for sure our server was. :(
