The Dean Pans Restaurant As

Post by Shep »

TF reviewed a restaurant as one of the worst he has ever eaten in and probably should close and choose something else to do. What he would not do was, name the restaurant. After giving it four tries, the last of which was inedible.

A few points: A true critic would in fact name the restaurant. Which master does the Dean serve? His radio audience or the New Orleans restaurant industry and hence we come to a distinction that I think needs to be made and certainly placed on his web-site as a disclaimer.

"My friends and reputation among the local restaurant community are at the forefront of each and every word that I write and utter. My reviews are not really reviews. Rather they are promotional material for the individual restaurant, they are designed to get you the best meal possible at the individual restaurant. However, they are not designed for you to make a selection of one locally owned restaurant versus another. You will only hear me badmouth chains and fast food."

How long can this clown be taken seriously? He is the PT Barnum of food critics.
