Rio Mar Celebrates Rioja

Post by justagirl »

After Bam Bam agreed to pick me up with out honking the horn outside my house, I thought I'd forgive him long enough to take me to dinner. I got this email from Rio Mar Tuesday night and knew we should check it out:

RioMar's Rioja Celebration: November 11-17

Piquillo Peppers stuffed with Bacalao and Morcilla
2005 Marques de Caceres White Rioja
(100% Viura - Crisp citrus and melon flavors)

Seasonal Vegetable Plate
2006 Martin Codax Ergo, Rioja Joven
(100% Tempranillo - Modern fruit-forward style)

Patatas Riojanas with Chorizo
2005 Remondo "La Montesa" Crianza
(55% Garnacha, 40% Tempranillo, 5% Mazuelo - earthy, smoky finish)

Duo of Lamb:
Braised shoulder and roasted chops
2001 Aribau Cuvee, Reserva
(100% Tempranillo - complex flavors of berries and tannins)

Spanish Cheese Plate

Prix Fixe $60 (plus tax)
Tasting Menu without wine $38

(504.525.3474 call and reserve your spot, it was very much worth it)

When I have a little more time I'll elaborate, I hope Bam will have time as well. But for now, just trust me, and go HUNGRY cuz it's a lot of food.
“I'm sure when Peyton Manning was growing up he always wanted to throw the TD pass that gave the Saints a Super Bowl win," Jorge Arangure wrote. "Now he has."
