My last meal at Fong's was more than 15 years ago. During our meal I had a roach in my fried rice AND in my tea. Mrs. Fong shrugged it off, and charged full price. My Asian coworker had a roach in his food also. He puked in the restaurant, we left, and never went back. Actually it was an interesting experience and I have gotten a lot of mileage on the story.

Young's was a good bang for the buck. Lots of food for little money. I have gone there since they were located in the parking lot of the "ain't there no more" Piggly Wiggley. But is has been a while since I was there...

I lived in that area of Kenner about 20 years ago and my husband loved Fongs. I went there one day to pick up food and asked Mrs. Fong something. In all fairness, I can't remember what it was. Whatever it was, it made her angry. I know I wasn't complaining because I was picking up so there wasn't anything to complain about yet. Anyway, she chewed me out. Up one side and down the other. Nasty, rude lady. I told my husband he could pick up his own food.

I live nearby and would not eat in either place. If given a choice it would be Youngs.
