If it is a fast-food style burger joint like Bud's Broiler or an actual cafeteria then it is OK. It is even worse when there is nothing to indicate to the customer how it works.

There were many places like this in Dallas and it really soured me to the whole concept. Why can't someone come to your table and take your order?
I honestly don't mind counter service, provided that signage in the restaurant clearly indicates that patrons should order at the counter & pick up. Simple "order here" and "pickup here" signs are cheap, no? Anyway, I'd rather pick it up myself than have bad/indifferent/ridiculous table service.

We had 10:30 resv. at Luke. Still had to wait for a table. Service was their usual slow. Barely made it to the dome for kickoff. Oysters and Bloodys were good. Waiter forgot the lemon w/oysters. By the time he brought it, we'd finished the oysters...scooped lemon from our drinks did the trick. Burgers so-so, fries soggy. Good time anyway.

This is what I hear about Luke. Slow service. I cannot take over an hour for lunch so I guess I won't be going soon.

i stopped in earlier this week for a quick bite for breakfast.. service was great, the young lady who waited on me was very bubbly and polite. i ordered the Favorite crepe and hot-damn it was tasty. i've had some bad crepes in my life, but this one was light and airy and the filling was yummy. when i'm back in NO again next week i'll surely stop by again!

I didn't find this post credible either, Rex. :toast:

As I literally live around the corner, I'll give it a try soon and add a report.

Did a little bit of sleuthing. My best guess is that fsk13/gotham/shaftnjc is Farah Kassam. Ms. Kassam, care to emerge from the shadows? Easily got you phone number too, but I wouldn't post it.
