Ha! Bam and I were just discussing the merit of the posts over margaritas. Thanks for being real as usual admin.

Here's a bit of advice for all you shills for whatever-this-place's-name-is:
You have to supply a valid email address upon registration, and you have to click on the link in the validation email we send you before you can post. Carry on...

Considering how close I live, maybe 200 feet, I'll try it at some point. JAG, was the food bad? If it was just the service, that can be worked out. The menu looked interesting. What was the major issue?

Re: New Breakfast and lunch crepe place in J'Anita's old spot
It wasn't good. Well, Bam liked the grits and I liked the potatoes. I wanted eggs, I'm a protein in the morning kind of girl so I was hoping for a normal egg breakfast or an omelette but neither are on the menu, just crepes. That's fine, it's their menu and all. The crepes are kinda set up like omelettes where they are filled with scrambled egg and whatever else you want. But there was little to no egg in mine and very little egg in Bam's. I did like the sausage link and the coffee was decent. But with two breakfasts, two coffees (well, four since there are no refils) it was $30 and I didn't think it was worth that much money.
Apparently you have to order up at the counter then they bring you your food. There is no sign or anything telling you this. Bam and I sat at a table and were left alone for a good 20 minutes with no coffee no menu. When I could finally get someone's attention I asked for menus and coffees and was finally told the rules of the house. We had no idea. It's fine if that's how they want to do it, but we need to know.
It took about an hour and a half before we could get out of there and I was rushed to devour my food so I could make it to the game. We went with plenty of time that we shouldn't have felt rushed.
It was just overall a bad experience. It took way too long for food that wasn't worth the wait. I'm sure there will be people who like the crepe concept, but just give me 2 eggs over medium.
Like any other place that opens in our neighborhood, I wish them luck, it's just not going to work for me. Which bums me out because I was hoping to be a 'regular' there.
I am either a glutton for punishment or an optimist so I'll try Jackson soon too.

Should have gone with the Dome pizza, now made by Rotolo's; a vast improvement over the old Domino's. I had a pepperoni calzone and it was more than adequate. Probably the best thing I've had at the dome, although the loaded baked potato with pulled pork from the BBQ place is decent, as is the jambalaya and gator sausage.
But, I guess this is a subject for another thread...

Bam brought back a Dome Pizza last time and I thought I'd strangle him for it. It was Rotollo's so I was thinking it would be edible but it was so gross. I told the man I wanted popcorn...next time he'll listen.
Other people had pizza and it looked way better than the one we had, so maybe we just got the bottom of the barrel.

I have never been a big fan of the "get in line to order then go sit down and wait til your name is called" restaurant style. If it is a fast-food style burger joint like Bud's Broiler or an actual cafeteria then it is OK. It is even worse when there is nothing to indicate to the customer how it works.
There were many places like this in Dallas and it really soured me to the whole concept. Why can't someone come to your table and take your order?
