Start the day...heck, I pretty much end the day right there by noon! Course, I don't have to go anywhere else, and I usually cook Prime Rib or Lobster (as 17 YO daughter dictates.) later in the day (and after my nap). After the bacon and biscuits, then comes the sacrifical Breakfast Turkey that is fried up to pick the bones by the people waiting for their turkey dinners to cook. It doesn't take long, about 35-45 minutes.Hobbes wrote:Oyster, what a great way to start the day, that sounds wonderful! Do you leave the bacon fat in the pot and add more oil to cook the turkey? That would sure give it great flavor.
Sounds like an awesome Thanksgiving party.Oyster wrote:Start the day...heck, I pretty much end the day right there by noon! Add more oil? Nawwww...more than enough renders out of the bacon to make up for any absorbed in the atmosphere!
Tell you the truth, after people pass by this early a.m. TG party, they tend to blow off traditional family events that they have been attending for the last quarter century to hang with our crew! Peeps are booking turkey's in the pots as we speak.
Of course, by noon, not too many in shape to drive very far anyway.
