Megrahi for oil
Why is the release for oil in some quid pro deal with Libya so outrageous. The fact that he was released period, should be enough for Britain to finally rid itself of Gordon Brown.

I agree, and I do not think he is to popular there with his own people.bam bam wrote:Why is the release for oil in some quid pro deal with Libya so outrageous. The fact that he was released period, should be enough for Britain to finally rid itself of Gordon Brown.

the us bombs terrorists, why not bomb this guy? if for some reason O.B.L. were in this same situation wouldnt we shoot down his plane the second it left uk airspace?
Re: Megrahi for oil
O.B.L would be brought to the White House for interrogation after being read his Miranda rights. They changed the rules last week.#7 throw away to do list. wrote:the us bombs terrorists, why not bomb this guy? if for some reason O.B.L. were in this same situation wouldnt we shoot down his plane the second it left uk airspace?

What has Gordon Brown got to do with it? He's the BRITISH PM, not the Scottish. While he did ask them not to release the man, it was not up to him to make the decision. I'm not aware of the UK having a PM. But perhaps things have changed since the last time I checked....

Gordon Brown is Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the head of the government. The United Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy and unitary state consisting of four countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.Titchou wrote:What has Gordon Brown got to do with it? Re: Megrahi for oil
He has no power over this decision in Scotland. That's been explained several times in various media.

I didn't say he did. You said, "I'm not aware of the UK having a PM." Gordon Brown is, in fact, PM of the UK.Titchou wrote:He has no power over this decision in Scotland. That's been explained several times in various media.

Apologies..not that I am a fan of his, I just wanted to clarify that the decision was not his to make.
