Could you sit still at 3 am for at least 5 minutes, please? You annoyed the sh-t out of me last night.

Dinner was really good though.

Whiny little b*tch.

Is "the breakup" of the eats board Jon & Kate imminent or is this a contrived opportunity for MUS?

We're going to stay together for the sake of the 8 kids.

Back on topic, kids.

Last night, I cooked fettucinne alfredo that was really good. It is one of my favorite htings to eat, period. and htis was a great batch. I had fresh pasta (I didn't make it, but it was made in a local restuarant and given to me by a friend). I never measure anything, I just wing it and adjust. Well, I had both romano and parm. cheeses (I buy only the very best of these), with heavy cream, half/half, black pepper, white pepper and a bit of salt.

The protien was grilled pork chops (boneless loin chops that were beautiful, $2.65/point at Rouse's; much better looking than the $3.49/pound chops). I marinated these, then grill for 16 minutes at 300-350 degrees. The marinade was a ginger based product (I think it was Stonewall Kitchens). It is very good, this being the 2nd time I had used it. After removing chops from grill, I placved them on a platter and poured what was left int he bottle of marinade over them. After sitting for 5 minutes, the natural juices from the pork mingled with the marinade and made a fabulous sauce, both in terms of flavor and texture.

I also served a dish of corn, onions and bacon. Outstanding.

Asian pork, italian pasta and southern veggie. An odd mix, but a great meal.

Pork chops here in the west are also outstanding this year. We grilled two last night the size of fillet mignons, that were lean, juicy, and just great!

How is your corn on the cob this year. Our's has just been plain terrible. All dry, under-sized, under-nourished. I have not had one decent ear!

Dom's appetite is finally coming back....slowly, but at least he's got a few taste-buds.... I'm going to grill us a nice Reuben sandwich on jewish rye. Not much, but it's better than nothing! :)

I had never heard of "Miracle Fruit" until an article in Gambit last week, but if Dom's lack of appetite is from lack of taste, metallic taste, or no taste, it could be a big help. It is from a plant originating from West Africa, and it actually makes acid/sour items taste sweet. After you eat a few seeds, or take the pill, a slice of lemon taste like the sweetest thing you have ever eaten! Plenty of info on internet too.

Funny, when my son had his BMT, the one thing that was never affected was his appetite!

Best wishes through this all.

Oh...has anyone tried Miracle Fruit? I think independent salespeople do some "party tastings" at individual's homes with guest in order to sell product (like an Avon or Tupperware party).

Thanks for the link, Oyster. I'll be looking into this. (Would also love to hear from anybody who's tried it) Happy friday, gang. :toast:
