Rum House 1st Report
I decided to take one for the team and eat at The Rum House on Magazine today. The place just eeks of a chain restaurant. The décor is more something you would expect to see at a mall in suburban Baltimore than on a Carribean Island. The menu is fairly limited. Nothing was all that appealing so I went with the fish tacos and a side order of fried plantains. The plate was visually impressive but the taste just wasn't there. The fried plantains were good but nothing to write home about.
The place has a great and interesting mix of cocktails but I have to be in traffic court this afternoon. So I skipped out.
I'd go back but the place feels more gimmicky than being interested in serving quality fare.

I found it odd that these two would open this place considering they had very little restaurant experience and no cooking experience.
Going to be tough for them to make it past 6 months as I imagine the next two months are going to eat up alot of cash.

Bear, that does look very spartan. where is the pico? guac or avacado? That poor taco needs something.

I dunno, gang...... I love tacos.... any kind of hispanic food, for that matter. I enjoy fish... most of it............
But the thought of "fish tacos" sickens me. Yuckers!

They are actually very good. Give em a try before you make up your mind against. I was surprised at how good.
Now this is more like it.

Go try the fish tacos at Taqueria Corona...right there at Severn and West Esplanade.
They are my favorite tacos there.....And when it comes to fish - I'm a common-sewer!
And don't forget tro drop by our store and introduce yourself when you're done

Re: Rum House 1st Report
My first fish taco was fried fish so that is what I prefer. I have tried grilled and it just seems to lack something for me.
