Can't say I'm sorry to see it go; I never was a fan of the place.

I wonder what comes next. Here's hoping it isn't Gelato, Sushi, or a Coffeeshop.

I can't help but think of the original Semolina's and how good it was. I first ate there in probably 93? I still remember how amazed I was at there Mac and Cheese.

What ever happened to the concept of running one place, well? I always admired those folks who had the single establishment for years and took pride in their unique quality.

Honestly.... many ages when they opened up in Slidell, I walked in for dinner with dear old maw. Looked around, got "bad vibes" and left. Something about the place really, REALLY turned me off. (I almost ALWAYS give a joint the benefit of the doubt.... but, not Semolina's):whip:

Finally ! That place was horrible. Beautiful room, but an Applebees underneath. I really like Zea's though. If the 3 taste buds put their energy behind this hi-brid like they did Zea, it might have done better. You can't open a boutique Italian restaurant and run it like an Applebees. These guys probably had money to experiment / test the market etc. They will probably try something different if they still have the lease. Maybe " Semolina Social Italian City" or something.

It is strange why they decided to let this concept go to crap after buying it back from the company that the sold it to.
Early on they did a good job with Semolina's.

I never "got" Semo's - even back in the day when everybody was on it. Seemed like Benigan's with pasta. Sorry to see anybody go belly up, but I won't miss it.
