Has anyone caught up to the new mobile Sucre` yet? Look for a big converted Ice Cream truck, with anAussie wearing a Bouffant...a BLUE Bouffant. Rolling on Wednesdays through Sundays. You can check updates on it's location on its Twitter feed. Serving gelato, iced tea, coffee and homemade lemonade.

Sucre`'s New Rolling Gelato & Sweet Shop
Re: Sucre`'s New Rolling Gelato & Sweet Shop
Does it have a bell? All ice cream trucks when I was young, went through the neighborhood going "Ding Ding", pause "Ding Ding".

As John Wayne once said: "Life's tough. It's even tougher if you're stupid."

No bell. Just speakers hooked up to an iPod. Personally, I would have preferred a classic bell.Schuarta wrote:Does it have a bell? All ice cream trucks when I was young, went through the neighborhood going "Ding Ding", pause "Ding Ding".
I'm working on a longer story about ice cream trucks and other trucks selling cold treats.
1) Has anyone spotted other good or interesting trucks around town?
2) And if you have any memories of New Orleans ice cream trucks from when you were a kid, I would like to interview you. Feel free to email me at NODrinks@me.com

There is an ice cream truck in my neighborhood. Horrible rap-ish music coming through very loud. I didn't know what it was at first. Seems he is new to the neighborhood, this is the first one I seen around here since we moved to this neighborhood 9 years ago. He just started about two months ago.
Re: childhood ice cream trucks. I remember them, just don't remember anything distinctive about them. If I heard the music again, I would recognized it in a heart beat.
I always got dreamcicle, if that is how to spell it.

I saw the wagon on St. Charles in front of Audubon Park Saturday afternoon. Pretty cool idea. Also saw at least 1/2 dozen snoball stands on wheels this week end
