Saw and Heard him walking thru SoHo, as he was singing "Know What It Means" while strolling down the street. I swear I've never seen him and Bernadette Peters in the same place...hmm...just saying.

oh, and Emeril's, need to get there soon, been far too long.

I had lunch here with my crew today. The special is really a good deal. Although, if you order multiple bottles of albarino, the check adds up. Two of us had the special. One guy ordered the burger. I went with the fried oysters and slaw for my first course. It was a fairly mind blowing dish with a cool tangy slaw contrasting with the hot panko fried oysters. My second course was the shrimp remoulade. I liked it, didn't love. DC #1 had the short rib sandwich and he had the same reaction. He ate every bite but said he might not order it again. DC #2 is a dumbass had the burger, topped with a beef BBQ sauce. He found it somewhat lacking. I don't get the topping beef with beef.

Desserts are pretty unimaginative. I had the blueberry sorbet. Good, solid but hardly the ethereal experience I had at Martinique with their blueberry habanero sorbet. DC #1 went with the Creme Brulee. Enjoyable but hardly cutting edge.

If you have never been to Emeril's or haven't been for awhile then this is an amazing deal that you should take advantage of. But if you are looking for the trend setting cuisine that made Emeril's an impossible to get table in the late 90s you will be disappointed.
