Abita beer bottles????

Post by JRO »

What's the deal? Why has Abita gone away from a twist off cap to a pry off top?

Could it be the bottle may be a penny or 2 cheaper.

I was OK with this change until sitting on the beach in Navarre the other day with 6 Ambers on ice, & had to go back up to the condo to get an opener. Then I found a jug to pour the beer in with an opener built into it.

Regular (non twist) keep beer MUCH fresher. Any beer worth its flavor should be using those bottles - way overdue for Abita, IMO, and I've noticed a significant difference since the switch.

And you should be able to open a beer bottle with anything handy - edge of the cooler, cell phone, seatbelt, etc.

Yeah, I am happy for the switch. It did suck when I was dumb enough to try to twist the cap oof a strawberry abita not once, but twice yesterday.

Glad I keep a bottle opener on my keychain.

Paleese! Glass bottles on the beach? No way! You should use Redneck Recepticles for frosty beverages on the beach!

That being said, I prefer the twisties too. My beers are never around long enough to get stale. It's no problem at home on the deck, cause I have an old style Coke opener screwed to the wall. But I have never had one on my keychain. May have to get one.

Probably more like the traditions, as in wine corks.

Or, use some of these methods:

Add to that a crab knife! No well equipped glove compartment should be without those items!
