Going to Middendorf's for lunch. Any recommendations besides the catfish?

Do a search on this site - a bunch of us have been many times and have links to great pics of the different dishes. Check out Mrs. Fury's posts and Jeeves.

The shrimp remoulade is outstanding. Have fun, I'm envious.

My faves:

BBQ shrimp (not what you are used to - more like shrimp in a marinara)

Remoulade

Cocktail - shrimp or crab - crab's not on the menu you have to ask

Gumbo

Homemade ice cream - make sure you ask if it's the homemade - they have store bought too I believe

My sweetie loves the grilled chicken sandwich (say what?) and banana bread pudding.
I like kids. They taste like chicken.

Fried oysters. They are one of the few places I know that gets the delicate balance of a nice fried crust while preserving a juicy, succulent oyster inside. I normally don't care for fried oysters, but Middy's are great. The other place that I know that has this down is Bozo's.

Frog legs! Perfect! Some of the best I've had since Vera's blew away from the end of Rat's Nest Road on the North Shore!

Last time we were there someone at the table next to us had them. That was a lotta frog legs.

Oh, I remember that lunch! I tried to reach over and sneak a frog leg, but Jeeves slapped my hand away! lol

I agree with the fried oysters. And the gumbo is great too. I usually do a fried catfish/oyster combo.

Fabulous as always. We also got to visit with Horst, Karen and the kitties. Horst was begging me to take the roosters.
