Dark Dinner?

Post by Low-N-Slow »

There was a show on the Travel Channel earlier called Extreme Restaurants. Some were rather off-the-wall, but one sounded intriguing-- dinner in the dark. Blindfolds, no lights whatsoever, and no menu-- no idea what you're eating. Nothing but taste, smell, and touch to go by. Servers wear military night-vision goggles, and assist with beverages and spills. Utensils are quickly forsaken in favor of fingers. Apparently, hands may also roam to one's DC. It made me think of those Hell's Kitchen challenges, where the blindfolded chefs are fed bits of different foods and have to identify each, often falling way off the mark. So has anyone ever been to such? Is it something you'd be interested in doing?

This reminds me...before Katrina we'd tossed the idea of a 'naked dinner' around at Marisol. I was totally in for that! Then again I was skinny then...LOL

You could invite bam, but I heard he's thinking of asking BTG.

Those two are like an old married couple. I'd have to sit between them. That might be ok.

I went to a restaurant in Shreveport once that was damn near this dark. When they brought the wine list, a pen light accompanied it. There was no menu, but the servers had flashlights to show you the steaks. It was weird.

That was the vampire bar from True Blood.
