NOWFE
Re: NOWFE
It was quite a party at Galatoire's lastnight. This is the first vintner dinner I participated in that the whole restaurant did tequila shots. The Reynolds Family wines were poured liberally and matched to the food perfectly. I am a bit hungover today or I would write more.

If it makes you feel any better Shep, I've got a touch of Wine Flu myself.

Re: NOWFE
We did the Grand Tasting on Friday night at the Dome. (We also did a dinner on WED night)
The last Grand Tasting I was able to attend was right after Katrina when it was held in a couple of ballrooms at the Hilton. The Dome is a much nicer set up with plenty of room to spread out. In fact, I think they should tighten the footprint up a bit so it doesn't feel quite as empty.
The wines were good, much better than you would get on the Royal Street Stroll, but the food was much better than I remember it being.
There was plenty of it and they served all the way until the end.
Of the food I tasted some of my favorites were...
Lamb cheeks with Israeli cous cous....Ralph's on The Park
Thai Pork Sandwich....Zea's
Grilled fish and crabmeat salad....Marriott
I was too full to try the Shrimp and Grits but I heard they were very good. Phil's Grill was even there grilling burgers!
The only thing I would change would be the addition of a select few mircobrews to give the palate a cleanse and complement some of the food offerings better.
I look forward to doing this again next year.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.
