Am I the only one who just doesn't get it?
I think the food is okay but not great and to me, the ambience is horrible.
What am I missing?

We touched on this a bit here:

In sum, I disagree with you. I like the food, the service and the atmosphere. I wouldn't say the place is the best in the city, but I have to say that when I'm in town, it's not hard to convince me to go there.
I should note that I've only ever eaten lunch there. Perhaps that accounts for some of the difference in our perception of the atmosphere?

Thanks W.I.N.L....glad to know I'm not the only one.
I'm thinking maybe it is a great lunch place. I've only been at dinner and aside from a Renegade Eat Club Dinner of sorts, I've never been wowed. If I ever sell my house and move to the WD, I'm sure I'll give it another try-but I just don't see myself going there otherwise.
And YES, Yvette-those wooden chairs and benches are the worst!

I am totally convinced that a lot of these awards and accolades are purchased.
Putting that place on any list of "Best" is laughable.

I'd agree with that.ratcheese wrote:I am totally convinced that a lot of these awards and accolades are purchased.
I have really enjoyed some dishes at Cochon, some not so much. I'd never ever plan to have dinner there, only lunch.
I like kids. They taste like chicken.

The Bravo A-List winners were determined by popular vote. You went to their site and voted. How they determined who was to be voted on I do not know.

I thought as much. Good press for them and the city any which way you slice it.The Bear wrote:The Bravo A-List winners were determined by popular vote. You went to their site and voted. How they determined who was to be voted on I do not know.
